Transformations is a 3-phase program using several different curricula including Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World, Jobs for Life, and financial management with the book The Money Challenge. The class is geared toward helping participants get out of poverty and into self-sufficient living! Topics for instruction include poverty, goal setting, idea sharing about community and neighborhood improvement, resume building, job interview skills, smart financial borrowing, budgeting, and saving. Classes meet for 2 hours a week for about 8-10 months. Dinner will be provided for all attendees. Incentives are given throughout the program. Those who complete the class will be honored with a graduation ceremony!
Classes in Cairo will be returning in February (pending student interest) and the Valdosta class will resume in person in late January. For those interested in participating in the program, fill out an application, and call 229-234-7427 to schedule an interview.
