Transformations is a 3-phase program using several different curricula including Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World, Jobs for Life, and financial management with the book The Money Challenge. The class is geared toward helping participants get out of poverty and into self-sufficient living! Topics for instruction include poverty, goal setting, idea sharing about community and neighborhood improvement, resume building, job interview skills, smart financial borrowing, budgeting, and saving. Classes meet for 2 hours a week for about 8-10 months. Dinner will be provided for all attendees. Incentives are given throughout the program. Those who complete the class will be honored with a graduation ceremony! A new class is beginning in Valdosta on February 13th. For those interested in participating in the program, fill out an application and call 229-234-7427 to schedule an interview. Interviews will take place on February 6th at 6pm.
